Partial Hospitalization
or Day Treatment

Partial hospital or day treatment programs generally are for people who do not need hospitalization but who need more intensive care than they would receive in a typical outpatient program. Sometimes patients will be admitted to these programs to prevent hospitalization, or as a transition back into the community. The programs generally last for several hours a day, for several days a week. Patients may participate in individual and group therapy, and other social activities.
